The political scenario in India Islamic Cultural Centre has really warmed up, with elections round the corner, after legal battles by several groups in Delhi's courts. Elections at India Islamic Cultural Centre, 2024 are taking place under 'an observer'; 
Jstice Talwant Singh (Rtd. Judge of High Court of Delhi).
Salman Khurshid, is in the fray with other four candidates, for the post of President: IICC, which takes place on 11th August, 2024.
To begin with Salman Khurshid has been able to galvanize huge interest amongst the youth, women and senior members of IICC. He along with 'Team Salman Khurshid' have drawn a 15 points programme, seeking 'CHANGE', involvement of each member, reorient the nomenclature of India Islamic Cultural Centre from every Muslim home to global horizon. He has promised 'transparency and accountability' towards all members. 
Salman Khurshid is a devout Muslim but gives respect for other religions. Surah 109 "Al-Kafirun" contains a core message which is that of reconcilliation with other faiths. your you your religion and to me,  my religion." Religious tolerance, freedom and pluralism are imperative in democracy. 
Salman Khurshid is former Minister of External Affairs, a designated senior advocate, eminent author and a scholar of law. He was the Cabinet Minister of External Affairs. He is an author, thinker and a social reformist. 
Salman Khurshid represented Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency since 2009. He also belongs to Farrukhabad area. Prior to this he was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha (1991–1996) from the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency. He became the Union Deputy Minister of Commerce in June 1991, and later became the Union Minister of State for External Affairs (Jan. 1993 – June 1996). He was the youngest person, as an Officer on Special Duty in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) under the prime ministership of Indira Gandhi in 1991. Salman Khurshid was President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee from 
7 November 2004 – 12 September 2007. 
He was General Secretary of AICC too.

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: 
Salman Khurshid was born on 01 January 1953. He is the illustrious grand son of illustrious ex President of India, Dr. Zahir Husain and illustrious son of Janab Khurshed Alam Khan, who has been a union cabinet minister of External Affairs. He is married to Louise Khurshid, who is a journalist and a political- social worker. 
𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 
Salman Khurshid is a erudite scholar, author, orator, and has absolutely candid views on issues, which he expresses without fear or bias. He studied in St. Xavier's High School, Patna, and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. He obtained B.A. (English Hons.) from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and later did his M.A., i.e. Bachelor of Civil Law at St Edmund Hall of Oxford University. 

He also taught as Lecturer in Law at Trinity College, Oxford.
𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 
Salman Khurshid started his political career as an Officer on Special Duty in the Prime Minister's Office, during the Prime Ministership of Indira Gandhi in the early 1980s. Later he became the Deputy Minister of Commerce in the Government of India. 
In 1991, he won the election to parliament from the Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh and was appointed Minister of State for External Affairs by Prime Minister Narasimha Rao.
In the General Election of 2009, he was elected as Member of Parliament from Farrukhabad, winning as a candidate of the Indian National Congress, with 1.69.351 votes. He became the Union Minister of State (with Independent Charges) of Corporate Affairs and Minority Affairs in the Government of India. He took over as Minister on 29 May 2009. In the Cabinet reshuffle of 12 July 2011, he was made Cabinet Minister for Law and Justice, and for Minority Affairs, in the Government of India.

Salman Khurshid has been the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee twice. 
He was also the President of the Delhi Public School Society, Dr. Zakir Hussain Study Circle and Patron of Mother Teresa Memorial Trust/Mother Teresa Foundation. He heads The Global World Public School too. 

𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬
Salman Khurshid, is a secular person, giving respect to each religion. He is a prolific lawyer and is practicing in the Supreme Court of India. "I would refuse a client, only when I am personally satisfied that taking up the case would go against the ethics of the profession. A lawyer has to appear for an accused too. It is my constitutional duty". After all to get justice is a constitutional right of each citizen. 
Salman Khurshid has been deeply involved in writing of, and acting in plays since his student days in St. Stephen's College and University of Oxford. He is the author of the play; 'Sons of Babur', published by Rupa & Co., which has been staged, with Tom Alter in the lead role, at the Red Fort in Delhi.
Salman Khurshid has also been the editor of "The Contemporary Conservative: Selected Writings of Dhiren Bhagat (published in 1990).
In October 2021, Salman Khurshid authored, 'Sunrise over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times', writing about India's decline in secularism surrounding the 'Ayodhya dispute'. BJP leaders shared an excerpt from the book and triggered a controversy regarding Khurshid's attempt to draw a parallel between Hindutva and radical Islamist groups. The controversy resulted in his Nainital home being vandalized and set on fire. However Salman Khurshid showed great resilience towards this anarchist approach. 

Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust; Salman Khurshid and his wife Louise Khurshid are doing social work through Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust (for physically challenged people). The trust was founded on 30 October 1986 to commemorate, the third President of India, Zakir Husain, who is the maternal grandfather of Salman Khurshid.
